Non-Medicare HMOs and the Kaiser EPO
This section describes the HMOs and the Kaiser Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plans which are offered to eligible retirees and their surviving dependents who are not eligible for Medicare. If you or an eligible dependent is eligible for Medicare, see the
Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) section.
To be eligible to join an HMO or the Kaiser EPO, you must live in that plan's service area. HMO and EPO membership may not be available throughout an entire county; precise service areas are specified by home ZIP code. Because of the ongoing nature of HMO/EPO service territory changes, we recommend that you verify the service area and provider availability with each vendor.
See the
Health Care Participation section for general information on eligibility for medical coverage, including coverage under an HMO.
